I do plan to continue my posts about the Envious Halloween hunt, but I wanted to take a minute to talk about something I’m really excited about.

Gempandas are an upcoming breedable that have a lot of people very excited. I don’t know much about breedables myself, but a few of my friends are involved in the market, and have told me that Gempandas are quite innovative. These are more than just breedables: they are also a mini game.

In addition to being breedables, they also have a secondary function of hunting for treasure ingredients. You can use the ingredients to make magic potions, which you can then use in their spellcasting tournaments for prizes. You can also sell the ingredients and resulting potions if the tournaments aren’t your thing. Coupled with the idea that the pandas are low lag/prim and are inexpensive to keep, the Gempandas system is shaping up to be something both profitable and really fun!

They’re preparing for beta testing at the end of the month. To get involved, all you need to do is join the in world group, and you’ll be offered a panda when they’re released. Until then, they’ve been teasing us with cute things like screen pets and the most adorable shoulder pets you have ever seen.

I got the chance to own one of these shoulder pets, and they are completely wonderful. They have smooth animations, very lifelike, and don’t just stay put on your shoulder. They venture up on to the top of your head, and climb up your chest when they get a little restless. The shoulder pets are not breedables, so you can’t use them in the mini game, but then they also do not require food, run away, or die. (I’m hoping for the chance to own a little shoulder pet who looks like a real life red panda, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed!)

Currently, the amazing Gempanda team have a booth up at The Breedables Fright Night Expo. For as long as the expo lasts, there are fun events everyday, from the Gempanda team as well as the teams responsible for other types of breedables. (The sim is having some issues as of this post, but hopefully it will be sorted out soon!) You can buy a Halloween edition shoulder pet and a potion to make your real Gempanda into a Halloween panda after the launch, both available together for only L500 at the Gempanda booth.

So join the group, visit the website, and take in the information. Don’t miss the chance to become a beta tester for the cutest thing to happen to the grid!
